Born: in Pleven.
Education:
He graduated the Sofia University and PhD (1974).
Research:
His research was in the field of nonlinear interactions and non-persistent plasma medium, self-organisation and evolution in condensed matter.
Professional experience:
He was professor (1981) and head of the Condensed Matter Physics Department.
Prof. N. Martinov was vice-dean of the Faculty of Physics, Vice-Rector and Rector of the Sofia University, and member of the Condensed Matter Physics Scientific Council.
Prof. N. Martinov was chairman of the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation (1999 – 2004).
He was Vice-President of the Society of the Physicists in Bulgaria.
Awards:
He was awarded the honorary sign "St. Kliment Ohridski" blue ribbon and medal "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", first degree.
Member Fellow of the Society of the Physicists in Bulgaria.
