Biography
Antonia Peeva
(1923 – 2006)

Born:

    Nina Peeva was born in Asenovgrad.

Education:

    She studied physics and graduated from the Sofia University (1941 – 1946)

    She specialised in the Institute of Nuclear Physics at the Jagelon University in Krakow, Poland (1962).

Scientific Research:

    She take part in the expedition for measurement quantity of Rd in the rivers near Sofia and in the Black Sea and Varna Like.

    Investigating gas discharge she improved self-extinguished processesgas and buil improved Geiger-Muller counter for measuring cosmic ray in the Musala station.

Professional experience:

    Nina Peeva taught physics in the Asenovgrad for a short time.

    She was assistant and associate professor in the chair of nuclear physics at the Sofia University (1947 - 1988) headed by Elisabet Karamichailova at the begining.

    In the Union of physicists in Bulgaria Nina Peeva was vice president. For a long time she was member of the editorial board of the Bulletin. She initiated creation the physicist club in Sofia.

    Nina Peeva played the piano and painted graphics and aquarelle.
