NIKOLAY KIROV NIKOLOV
(22.10.1943 – 20.03.2013)
Born:
Nikolay Kirov was born in Gorna Oryahovitsa.
Education:
He studied english secondary school in Sofia and chemistry in the Sofia University.
Nikolay Kirov defended PhD in the ISSP - BAS (1973) and ScD (1988).
Research:
The area of his investigations was molecular spectroscopy.
Professional experience:
He was head of the Laboratory of Optics and Spectroscopy at the ISSP - BAS (1986 – 2002).
Nikolay Kirov was director of the Institute of Solid State Physics - BAS (1991 – 1999).
He was one of the creators of the Internationa school of Condense matter physics hold in Varna every even years since 1980.
Teaching activities:
He lectured cours “Molecular Spectroscopy in condense matter physics” in Parma, Italy (1983 – 1985).
The second cours was “New lines in optic spectroscopy of condense matter”, University of Calabria, Cosenza, Italy (1986 – 1988).
