Abstract: The report presents main results obtained during observations of total solar eclipses over the period 1961 - 2009, realized with the efforts of professionals working in the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia University and Astronomical observatories and planetaria in Bulgaria. The efforts of Bulgarian scientists for cooperation with observational teams from different countries in the path of totality are marked - organization and preliminary program of observations during the total solar eclipse, data processing and publishing of the results.
In the paper are shown results from investigations of the solar chromosphere, white light, monochromatic and dust corona, its structure and polarization. Some of the main results obtained by spectrophotometry of typical chromospheric and coronal lines are also presented.
There are also a series of results on astrometry of the Moon, meteorological, actinometrical and optical atmospheric investigations, study of geophysical effects and observations on the state of the ionosphere of Earth during the total solar eclipse.
Key words: Total solar eclipse, White light and monochromatic corona, Structure and polarization of the solar corona, Atmospheric response, Astrometry of the Moon
