The discovery and invention activity of Bulgarian scientists – physicists developed especially intensively in the latter half of XX century. The following factors contributed for that – the creation of the necessary research base at the BAS and the universities, the experience gained by the younger generation of scientists and the adopted legislation in knowledge protection in Bulgaria.
In the present work a survey is made of the creative achievements - discoveries and inventions – of a number of Bulgarian physicists, both of the older generation – starting with Acad. Georgi Nadjakov and Corr. Member Pavel Markov, to those of the younger generation like Corr. Member Yordan Kassabov and Prof. Evgeniy Leyarovski. Besides, the discovery and invention activity at the BAS and the universities is revealed in connection with the significant achievements in various fields of modern science and in physics, respectively.
